ViDesk Ltd ("we", "our", "us") operates the website videsk.com and the DeskNamer macOS application. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with these services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect as little data as possible.
- Website analytics: We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-preserving. It does not use cookies and does not track individuals across sites. Aggregated visit statistics are used solely to understand traffic patterns.
- Email notifications: If you submit your email address via our launch notification form, we store that address to contact you when DeskNamer is available. We do not share this with third parties, and you can request deletion at any time by emailing hello@videsk.com.
- DeskNamer app: The app stores data (desktop names, colours, icons, preferences) exclusively on your local Mac using UserDefaults. No data is transmitted to our servers or any third party. The app contains no analytics, no crash reporting, and no telemetry.
2. Cookies
Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare may set functional cookies necessary for security and performance. These do not identify you personally.
3. Third-Party Services
- Cloudflare: Our website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes request data as part of providing hosting and DDoS protection. Please refer to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for details.
4. Data Retention
Email addresses collected for launch notifications are retained until DeskNamer launches, after which we will notify you and delete your address within 30 days unless you opt in to future communications.
5. Your Rights (UK GDPR)
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Request erasure of your data
- Object to processing
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
